For two months in early 2003, I traveled to South-East Asia to research and document the Hilltribes of Northern Thailand. An earlier trip to the area introduced me to people who could help with the project. I brought a Mini-DV camera, a MiniDisc recorder and microphone, and plenty of tapes, batteries, questions, and false preconceptions.

For the first two weeks of the trip I was joined by Lisa Flood. The following pages have photos from the trip with her and images from the last 6 weeks of my solo trip. I hope to add some video clips as time goes on.

* A short disclaimer: In this section of the website I refer to myself as Davis. I travel by my middle name of Davis. Those who may know me as Randy needn't be confused. Davis is neither a long lost sibling, an alternate personality, or a doppelganger. Davis is me, Davis is Randy, and if you know what "randy" means in the UK then you'll know why I travel as Davis.
